Break of dawn

Married, for little over two weeks by now. We didn´t have our honeymoon yet, but it still feels like a honeymoon. I have found myself just going around with a silly happy smile on my face. I have been looking at pictures over and over again. I have been anxiously waiting for pictures from our own wedding photographer and most of all, I have been enjoying the company of my husband.

Since I tend to write long texts. I thought I would split my blog into smaller topics. I have lots of pictures to show and alot to say. I shall start by telling about the wedding morning.

For you who were our guests at the wedding, we have a picture album I shall share thrue email and Facebook. Please, thouse of you who will get the link during this week, share the knowledge with others, since I might not have everyones email. So, you guests will get to see all the wonderful captures from the day already.

Wedding morning

My two bridesmaids and personal assistant arrived at my home roughly around 8 am. Darling mr J left to spend the morning with his family and brothers in the hotel at the center. Bridesmaids had bought some delicious breakfast and sparkling wine to go with it. We started off easily, talking, eating and drinking. Then my bridesmaid miss A started with my makeup. She is a self-learned makeup professional. So she has watched a lot of tutorials and done a bridal makeup for her friend the previous summer and mostly for herself. I had originally planned to have a professional do it, but they failed to convince me of their talents in the testing makeup, so we came up with a perfect solution. She made me a dazzling natural looking makeup.

Why wear wedding shoes when you can go barefoot?

Next was my other personal assistant miss H, who came to make me a hairstyle for the wedding day. She has a hairdresser’s degree and experience from that line. So, no wonder the hair became really wonderful and all in just over an hour. While I was being pampered, my bridesmaids were taking care of themselves and of course we enjoyed our sparkling wine.

Also Leo got a little grooming. My maid of Honor miss R got her boyfriend to help with transporting Leo from the wedding spot. This had been actually a thing bothering till the very last week. What to do with Leo? From the very beginning I had played with an idea to have Leo be part of the wedding. It would be so nice to have him as our ring carrier, maybe instead of stealing the bride it would be stealing the dog and of course to get some pictures with Leo for our own album. But having a dog at a wedding isn`t that simple. Have to think about who takes care of him during the day. Who makes sure he gets food, who makes sure he doesn´t poop in the wrong places. Would we keep him free in the wedding place or on a leash?

Then again, who would take care of Leo if he wasn´t at the wedding? Mainly all our helpers with Leo were invited to the wedding. So, miss R´s boyfriend came to pick up Leo after the wedding ceremony and few pictures were taken. This way we got to have Leo be part of our wedding, he also had his time out, got food when he got home (and the cat also). Originally my family didn´t seem thrilled about the idea of having Leo be part of the wedding. Even I had small doubts at the wedding morning. What if Leo would not behave nicely? What if he would poop when coming to the aisle or what if he would bark a lot? Luckily he behaved really well and the only thing he did, was move around miss A, instead of staying still. And the only time he barked was after the ceremony, when everyone clapped hands. So people thought that was just funny and a correct time to bark.

There was a problem

We (me and mr J) had given the groomsmen one task. Their clothing. And even with that task I had tried to be flexible. We wanted them to have green. Originally we hoped for green vests and a green tie, but nowhere could the vest be found. We even searched from Finland. So, next option was to have white shirt and green tie or even green shirt and green tie. Simple right? The least they needed to do, was to get a green tie. Later we had heard that they had bought a shirt and it came with a black tie. We said DEFINITELY NO to the black tie. It did not fit with our vision of the wedding. Black is for funerals and disco style. This was a summer wedding.

What did we find out on the wedding morning? They had not gotten anything that we had asked. They had blueish shirts and the black ties. Seriously. This was infuriating. It might seem like a small thing. But still, it was the one and only thing asked to do. When planning a wedding, often there is some colors for the wedding, and now they had decided to not care what the couple wanted and gone with their own colors. I must say, it did not make me happy. And it did not make mr J happy. It was really sad, that at the wedding morning mr J had to go around the city center, looking for ties for the grooms. He ended up buying white ties, since it would match at least abit with our colors. Ties were expensive. If we had known from the beginning, that they had not found ties to match the colors, we could have found good ties for 5 euros. Now mr J had to pay 45 euros for each tie.

All in all, the clothing problem was not taken lightly, but the end result was nice. Groomsmen helped with the programs, mr F even gave a short speech and luckily the morning episode didn´t seem to effect the days atmosphere.

Next blog will be mostlikely about the wedding ceremony, photoshoot and some of the program. And the final part is about the wedding dance, evening program and about the band.

I will leave here some taste of the things to come
